by Emilio G Bianciardi Visit Date:March 31, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "We live in Surin and we normally use the Hotel when in Bangkok and take the top of the range room in the 10-11th floor. In the last visit we have noticed a big improvement on the reception desk, normally very unfriendly and unhelpfull. For the first time they recognised us as usual married custumers and not one night stander. At the moment, with renovation goig on the Hotel,is more then whorty the money. One remark:the prices for the mini bar are out of earth." |

by Gerald Ikuo Kimata Visit Date:March 12, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "I posted a comment about the sad state of this hotel s internet access. My previous stay I was in a junior suite, where I could find no LAN port. However, this time I was in an Executive Deluxe room on the 10th floor and did find a working LAN port, so I was a happy traveler. All I can confirm is that this level of room on the 10th floor did have free internet access in the room at speeds of 1.5 MB. Bring your own CAT 5E LAN cable, which I always take with me. Don t know if they have cables for use or rent. BTW, the hotel is undergoing major reconstruction in the lobby area so you have to check in on the 6th floor, sharing space with the dining room. Dining area a little smaller to make room but not affected much. No upstairs dining, also being worked on." |

by Sanne Fogh Soerensen Visit Date:February 4, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "The room was a bit worn down. Bathroom was very small and aircondition big and noisy and placed right over our bed, so we got the cold air in our heads at night. The balcony was very small and dirty.Fitnesscenter was only open from 11, so no morning exercise." |
Booking service was great, February 4, 2010 by Rupert Watts Visit Date:February 2, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Large room, but quite shabby, badly in need of a re-furb, felt like a 70 s throwback. Food was absoluely appalling on the roof terrace, would never eat here again. Breakfast was also pretty poor, a place to stay for the convenient location for a single night, not longer and certainly to be avoided for food, it s a shame to eat bad Thai food in Bangkok" |
by Peter Visit Date:February 1, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Good location, only 10 minute walk to patpong silom, great breakfast, swimming pool on roof, but not enough sun loungers, rooms very big for what you pay for" |
by Emely Visit Date:January 26, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "When we arrived at the Unico Grande and got up to the room, it smelled heavely of smoke, when we had booked a non smoking room. After notifing the staff, we got to change to another room, with promise of it to be a no-smoking room. Everything seemed OK, the room looked good and smelled as it just had been cleaned. Within a few minutes, when the smell of the cleaning faded, it began smelling like smoke again. And it smell became more and more intense. We also found an ashtray and matches in a drawer just by the door.We went down to the reception and asked why we yet again had gotten a smoking room when we had booked a no-smoking room in the first place. We got no real answer, just a promise that they would have a nice no-smoking room ready for us in a few hours. Upon returning to the hotel about 2 hours later, we got a bigger room on another floor than the two earlier. But as soon as we opened the door, we at once could smell that someone had been smoking in this room also. The room was, as promised, just cleaned before we got the key to it. We went down to the reception again to make a third complaint. We were then directed to speak to the manager about our situation. He wondered what was wrong this time. We told him that we had gotten smoking rooms three times. He answered that it was one of their best rooms and that it had been cleaned. We asked if they had no-smoking rooms. He then said that he would cancel our vouchers for our stay.So we would like to inform other guests that they acctually not have any real no-smoking rooms." |
